About Us
A brief history of the Forest of Arden Bowmen
I know that most members these days know little of the history of the Forest of Arden Bowmen and its origins.
The club was founded as Solihull Field Archers in the early seventies 1976 roughly at the same period as the NFAS and were some of the first members of that society.
After a few years at the Scout ground in Lode Lane Solihull we moved to the Forest of Arden Golf Club and used the two pieces of woodland on that site, where the Hotel is now situated, for a number of years.
In the late 80s we were asked to vacate that site and we obtained permission, from the estate, to move to our present site Daniels Wood owned by Parkington Estate where we previously used for NFAS open shoots.
